In this course, students will not only learn issues related to psychology but also will learn how to participate in lectures and how to research and discuss issues while working to improve academic English skills in all four areas: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students will also learn that, even though some of the vocabulary and concepts are very specific, the content of psychology is relatively easy to learn and apply to daily life.



このコースでは基礎心理学の問題に関して学ぶだけでなく、アカデミックイングリッシュの４技能の領域において、どのように講義に参加し研究や討論をするのかを学びます。心理学に関連する用語や概念は専門的なものが含まれますが、本講義の内容は容易に理解することができ、実世界へ応用することが可能です。

This course tries to answer questions related to how people feel, learn, live, and interact, providing an overview of how people think and behave. It explores topics interesting to content creators, such as communication strategies, methods of decision-making, styles of relationships, and sex and gender issues.



The course is organized into several different content-based lessons, which provide students with an opportunity to improve language skills, especially increasing vocabulary proficiency.



このコースは人々がどのように考え行動しているのかという概観を提供し、人々がどのように感じ、学び、生き、そして交流をしているのかという問いに挑戦します。また、コンテンツクリエーターが関心をもつ、コミュニケーションの手法、意思決定の手段、関係性の構築、性の問題などのトピックについて考察を行います。



本コースはさまざまな異なる内容のレッスンで構成されています。単語などを中心に言語スキルを伸ばす機会が与えられます。

Neuropsychology is introduced through basic English. Important parts of the brain and their functions will also be covered. The goal of the lesson is to provide students with a basic overview of neuropsychology and the workings of the brain.
神経心理学に関して基礎英語をもとに学びます。脳の部位やその機能について探ります。このレッスンは学生に神経心理学と脳の機能の概観を提供します。

DEVELOPMENTAL: The study of how people grow and learn throughout a lifetime. COGNITIVE: the study of how the mind processes thoughts and language. SOCIAL: The scientific study of how we think about, influence, and relate to one another. CLINICAL:, the study of how doctors address mental health and mental illnesses. This class will teach students how four different branches of psychology differ in approaches to mental illness and research into human behavior. 発達分野：人生において人々がどのように成長し学ぶのかを学ぶ。認知分野：言語を通して心がどのように機能するのかを学ぶ。社会分野：私たちが他者に対してどのように考え、影響を与え、関係性を築くのかを学ぶ。臨床分野：どのように医師がメンタルヘルスの問題に対応するのかを学ぶ。このクラスでは、心理学の４つの異なる分野がどのように精神病と人間行動の研究に対して、これまでと異なるアプローチをとっているのかを学びます。

This class introduces students to the theories of Sigmund Freud and B.F. Skinner, two giants in the field of psychology. Psychoanalysis and Behaviorism are discussed, bringing up topics such as dreams, the unconscious mind, the Skinner box, and operant conditioning. The goal of this lesson will be to give students a basic understanding of the influence that Freud and Skinner have on modern psychology.
このクラスでは心理学における代表的研究者であるジークムンド・フロイトとB.F.スキナーの理論を学びます。精神分析と行動主義について議論をし、夢、無意識、スキナー箱、オペラント条件付き法などのトピックを紹介します。このレッスンより、フロイトとスキナーが近代心理学に与えた影響に関する基礎理解を深めることができます。

This class introduces students to the work and theories of Jean Piaget and Alfred Binet. Piaget’s huge influence on developmental psychology and child psychology will be discussed, and Binet’s work in developing the IQ test will be covered. Students will learn how the work of both men continues to have a great influence on education. The goal of this lesson will be to give students a basic understanding of the influence that Piaget and Binet had on modern psychology.

This class will introduce the students to Dr. Howard Gardner’s theory on the eight intelligences and how his theory has changed the way schools approach education and curricula. The goal of this lesson is to give students an idea of their own special intelligence and to make them aware of the different ways people learn.

The goal of this review lesson is to give students an opportunity to explore some of the issues discussed in the lectures in small groups to understand the concepts more deeply.

The goal of the mid-term test is to measure how well the students have learned the materials.
中間考査ではこれまで学んだ内容の理解度を測ります。

In this class, the various causes, symptoms, and treatments of abnormal psychological conditions will be discussed, including how mental illness is portrayed in the media. Student will learn several of the more common abnormal disorders. The goal of this lesson is to give students a basic understanding of abnormal psychology and its effect on society.
このクラスでは、異常心理学上のさまざまな原因や治療法に関して議論します。また、精神病がどのようにメディア媒体にて表現されてきたのかを学び、より一般的な異常疾患について考えます。このレッスンにより、異常心理学とそれが社会に与える影響に関する基礎理解を得ることができます。

This class presents the ideas of psychiatrist Carl Jung and his theory on personality. The class will also study the Myers Briggs Type Indicator Assessment and see how businesses and couples use it to find compatible employees and spouses. Students will know their personality types by the end of the lesson. The goal of this lesson is to introduce Carl Jung to the class and to give the class an understanding of the different personality types and how personality types are linked to compatibility.

This class explores the basic concepts of how the human brain reacts to stimuli, such as how humans are able to recognize faces even years after they have not met a person. The goal of this lesson is to provide students with the knowledge of how the brain’s mechanisms influence how we process stimuli.

This class examines how people are cognitively aware of their surroundings. This class will look into such issues as meta-awareness, theology, and philosophy and how humans developed certain models of thought. The goal of this lesson is to give students an insight on how humans reason and form thoughts.

This class will teach students how intrinsic and extrinsic motivations determine why we do things. The importance of extrinsic motivation in video game design will be explored. Kohlberg’s Theory of Moral Development will be discussed to look at ways moral reasoning changes as people age. The goal of this class is to make students aware of the reasons they do things, how to recognize the reasons, and become more aware of the importance of motivation in video game design.

This class will explore such gender issues as the definition of males and females beyond physiology, sex, and sexuality, and social interaction between the genders. The goal of this lesson is to give students a basic understanding of the gender issues facing society.
