学習目標 (到達目標)
To be able to make a two-minute demonstration presentation explaining how to do something (‘easy gourmet’ recipe).
授業概要 (教育目的)
This is a required course of all first grade students, focusing on English speech skills (transitions), presentation delivery (voice, eye contact) and creation and use of visuals (posters, PowerPoint containing YouTube videos, etc.). You will need to make a  PowerPoint presentation.

Speeches (fluency, vocabulary, speech skills): 70%

Participation (Questions asked in Q&A after presentations etc.): 20%

期末試験の内容
課題の内容
For the demonstration speech students prepare a 3 minute presentation script and Powerpoint slides and upload to Google Classroom. Teacher provides feedback and students improve their script or slide design before presenting.

第1回
Warm up: greetings in English - getting away from formula expressions "How are you? / I'm fine"
Practice greetings in groups.
Q&A practice: two kinds of questions in English
Practice questions in groups.
Introduction of Project 1: Easy-gourmet

Introduction to Demonstration speeches.
Listen to Lisa's speech about making a BLT sandwhich (p. 36)
Worksheet #1:  Listen to Lisa’s presentation for transition words and note them in the worksheet.

Discussion of Demonstration speeches (continued)
Listen to Lisa's speech again, this time for warnings (for cooking)

Worksheet #3: Warnings. Practice giving warnings in a variety of situations
Quiz - Warnings (assigned for HW)

Transitions practice: Arrange illustrations about an island holiday trip and use transitions and SVO + active verb to make a story.
