授業概要 (Class Overview)

この授業では、実践的な英会話スキルの向上を目的とし、テキストは使用せず、Nearpod（ニアポッド） を活用して学習を進めます。
This course is designed to improve practical English conversation skills. No textbooks will be used; instead, learning will be conducted through Nearpod, an interactive web app.

授業の最初に、ランダムにペアが決められ、毎回異なるクラスメートと一緒に座ります。
At the beginning of each class, students will be assigned a random partner and sit with a different classmate each time.

その後、Nearpod にログインし、教師が用意したスライドにアクセスします。
Then, students will log into Nearpod and access the slides prepared by the teacher.

スライドには、例文や会話のモデルが含まれており、学生はそれを参考にしながら、自分の言いたいことに合わせてアレンジ することができます。
The slides will contain example sentences and model conversations that students can refer to and adapt to express their own ideas.

この授業では、対話を通じた学習 を重視しており、ペアワークやクラスメートとの交流を通じて実践的なスピーキングスキルを養います。
The course emphasizes learning through conversation, helping students develop practical speaking skills through pair work and interactions with classmates.

このプロセスを通じて、自信を持って効果的に伝えるスキルを身につけることを目指します。
Through this process, students will develop the skills to communicate effectively and confidently.

この授業では、以下の目標を達成することを目指します。
In this course, students will aim to achieve the following objectives:
• 基本的な英会話表現を理解し、正しく発音できるようになる。
Understand and correctly pronounce basic English conversation patterns.
• 学習した表現を使って、自分の考えや気持ちを表現できるようになる。
Use learned expressions to communicate personal thoughts and feelings.
• スムーズに会話のキャッチボールができるようになる。
Engage in natural back-and-forth conversation with a partner.
• ノートやスクリプトを見ずに、自信を持って英語で会話ができるようになる。
Speak confidently in English without relying on notes or scripts.
• ペアワークやクラスメートとの会話を通じて、異なる相手との会話に慣れる。
Get comfortable speaking with different partners through pair work and class interactions.
• 会話中にアイコンタクトを取りながら、相手の話をしっかり聞くことができるようになる。
Maintain natural eye contact while actively listening to a conversation partner.
• 実生活で使える英語を身につけ、日常的な状況で自信を持って英語を話せるようになる。
Acquire practical English skills and feel confident speaking in everyday situations.

Grading Method and Criteria

学生の成績は、スピーキングテスト（60%）、Duolingoの課題の提出状況（20%）、授業への参加態度（20%） に基づいて評価されます。
Students will be graded based on their Speaking Test (60%), Duolingo Assignment Completion (20%), and Class Participation (20%).

1. スピーキングテスト（60%）

1. Speaking Test (60%)
• テストでは、授業で学んだ3つのトピックについて会話を行う。
The test will cover three conversation topics learned in class.
• 教師は以下の基準で評価を行う。
The teacher will evaluate students based on the following criteria:
• 発音（Pronunciation） - 正しく発音できているか。
• 流暢さ（Fluency） - スムーズに話せているか。
• アイコンタクト（Eye Contact） - しっかり相手を見ながら会話できているか。
• 内容の適切さ（Content Accuracy） - 会話の内容が適切であるか。
• テストはペアで行い、教師は会話を聞いて評価する。
The test will be conducted in pairs, and the teacher will listen and grade the conversation.

2. Duolingo課題（20%）

2. Duolingo Assignments (20%)
• 授業期間中の 4週間分の課題 をすべて完了すること。
Students must complete four weeks of assignments during the course.
• 提出期限までに完了しなかった場合、成績に影響がある。
Failure to complete assignments on time will affect the final grade.
• 宿題を提出していない学生は、補習課題を行う必要がある。
Students who miss assignments must complete an additional task to make up their score.

3. 授業参加（20%）

3. Class Participation (20%)
• 授業への積極的な参加と、時間を守ることが評価の対象となる。
Active participation in class and punctuality will be graded.
• 遅刻や欠席が多い学生は成績が下がる可能性がある。
Students who are frequently late or absent will have their score reduced.
• クラスでのペアワークや会話練習にしっかり取り組むことが求められる。
Students are expected to fully engage in pair work and conversation practice.

この授業では、期末試験は実施しません。評価はスピーキングテスト、Duolingoの課題、授業参加 に基づいて行われます。
This course does not have a final exam. Grading will be based on the Speaking Test, Duolingo Assignments, and Class Participation.

Assignment Details

この授業では、以下の課題を実施します。

• Duolingo課題（4週間分）
Duolingo Assignments (4 weeks)
• 毎週、指定されたレッスンを完了すること。
Complete the assigned lessons each week.
• 提出期限を守らなかった場合は成績に影響がある。
Failure to meet deadlines will affect the grade.
• 未提出の学生は補習課題を行う必要がある。
Students who miss assignments must complete an extra task.

その他の課題はNearpodを通じて指示される場合があります。
Additional tasks may be assigned through Nearpod as needed.

授業内容 (Class Content)
Lesson 1:  例文を使ってクラスメートにインタビューする
Lesson 1: Introducing Yourself & Asking About Your Partner
• クラスメートとペアになり、簡単な自己紹介をする。
Pair up with a classmate and introduce yourself.
• 自分の名前、出身地、趣味などの基本情報を伝える。
Share basic information about yourself, such as your name, hometown, and hobbies.
• パートナーに簡単な質問をし、相手の情報を聞き取る練習をする。
Ask simple questions to your partner and practice listening to their responses.

Lesson 2: 例文を使ってクラスメートにインタビューする

Lesson 2: Using Example Questions to Interview Your Classmates
• Nearpod にログインし、教師が用意した質問の例文を確認する。
Log into Nearpod and review the example questions provided by the teacher.
• ランダムにペアを組み、お互いに質問し合う。
Pair up randomly and take turns asking each other questions.

Lesson 3: 重要な質問をする（遅刻・トイレなど）

Lesson 3: Asking Important Questions (If You Are Late or Need to Use the Bathroom)
• Nearpod にログインし、教師が用意した例文を確認する。
Log into Nearpod and review the example sentences provided by the teacher.
• 遅刻した時やトイレに行きたい時など、重要な質問の表現を学ぶ。
Learn useful expressions for situations like being late or needing to use the bathroom.
• パートナーとペアになり、例文を使って実践練習をする。
Pair up with a classmate and practice using these expressions in a conversation.

Lesson 4: 発音クイズ & 丁寧な英語と失礼な英語の違いを学ぶ

Lesson 4: Pronunciation Quiz & Learning the Difference Between Polite and Rude English
• Nearpod にログインし、発音クイズに挑戦する。
Log into Nearpod and take a pronunciation quiz.
• 英語の発音のポイントを確認し、正しく発音する練習をする。
Review key pronunciation points and practice pronouncing words correctly.
• 同じ意味を持つが異なるニュアンスの表現を学ぶ（例：「May I ask your name, please?」 vs. 「Who are you?」「What’s your name?」）。
Learn expressions with the same meaning but different levels of politeness (e.g., “May I ask your name, please?” vs. “Who are you?” or “What’s your name?”).
• パートナーとペアになり、丁寧な表現とカジュアルな表現を使い分ける練習をする。
Pair up with a classmate and practice distinguishing between polite and casual expressions.

Lesson 5: 英語での時間の言い方 & 丁寧な時間の尋ね方

Lesson 5: Learning How to Say the Time in English & How to Ask for the Time Politely
• Nearpod にログインし、英語での時間の表現を確認する。
Log into Nearpod and review how to express time in English.
• 時間の言い方（例：「It’s three o’clock」「It’s half past two」「It’s ten to five」）を練習する。
Practice saying different time expressions (e.g., “It’s three o’clock,” “It’s half past two,” “It’s ten to five”).
• 時間を尋ねる表現の違いを学ぶ（例：「Excuse me, could you tell me the time?」 vs. 「What time is it?」）。
Learn different ways to ask for the time politely (e.g., “Excuse me, could you tell me the time?” vs. “What time is it?”).
• ペアになり、時間を伝えたり尋ねたりする会話練習をする。
Pair up and practice asking for and telling the time in conversation.

Lesson 6: 電話番号の尋ね方 & 数字の正しい発音

Lesson 6: Asking for Telephone Numbers & Pronouncing Numbers Correctly in English
• Nearpod にログインし、電話番号の尋ね方と数字の発音を確認する。
Log into Nearpod and review how to ask for telephone numbers and pronounce numbers correctly.
• 電話番号の尋ね方を学ぶ（例：「What’s your phone number?」「May I have your phone number, please?」）。
Learn how to ask for a phone number (e.g., “What’s your phone number?” “May I have your phone number, please?”).
• 数字の発音を練習し、「zero」と「oh」の使い分けを確認する。
Practice pronouncing numbers correctly and understand the difference between “zero” and “oh.”
• ペアになり、お互いの電話番号を尋ねる練習をする。
Pair up and practice asking for and giving phone numbers.
• 次回のスピーキングテストのペアを決定する。
Decide on partners for the speaking test in the next class.

Lesson 7: スピーキングテスト（前半）

Lesson 7: Speaking Test (First Half)
• Nearpod にログインし、テストの流れと評価基準を確認する。
Log into Nearpod and review the test procedure and grading criteria.
• レッスン6で決めたテストパートナーと一緒に待機し、順番が来たらテストを受ける。
Wait with your test partner from Lesson 6 and take the test when your turn is called.
• テストの順番はランダムに決定される。
The order of the test will be randomly decided.
• 指定された部屋に移動し、教師の前でパートナーと会話を行う。
Move to a designated room and have a conversation with your partner in front of the teacher.
• 教師は会話には参加せず、聞いて評価を行う。
The teacher will only listen and evaluate the conversation without participating.
• テストを終えた学生はクラスに戻り、Nearpod で復習や補助アクティビティを行う。
After completing the test, students return to the classroom to review and complete additional activities on Nearpod.

Lesson 8: スピーキングテスト（後半）

Lesson 8: Speaking Test (Second Half)
• Nearpod にログインし、テストの流れと評価基準を確認する。
Log into Nearpod and review the test procedure and grading criteria.
• レッスン6で決めたテストパートナーと一緒に待機し、順番が来たらテストを受ける。

• 毎週宿題をきちんと提出している学生は、この課題を免除される。
Students who have successfully completed their homework every week will not have to do this.

教科書以外に準備するもの（自己手配） Materials to be Prepared by the Students, Other than the Textbook
• 毎回の授業に参加し、ノートを取るために、PC、Mac、またはiPadを持参すること。スマートフォンのみの持参はノート取りには不適切です。
Bring a PC, Mac, or iPad to every class for participation and taking notes. A smartphone is not acceptable for note-taking.
• 学生は、Googleドキュメントに慣れておく必要があります。DHUの学生は、すべてのGoogleアプリを利用でき、Googleドライブの大容量ストレージも提供されています。
Students should familiarize themselves with Google Documents. DHU students have full access to Google Apps and a large amount of Google Drive storage.
• 本授業では Nearpod（nearpod.com）というWebアプリを使用し、登録不要かつ無料で利用できます。使用方法については、Google Classroom内および学期最初の授業で教員が説明します。
This course will use the web app Nearpod (nearpod.com), which is free to use and does not require registration. The teacher will explain how to use it on Google Classroom and in the first lesson of the semester.
• クイズアクティビティの一環として Kahoot（kahoot.com）を使用する予定です。Kahoot は無料で利用でき、学生はスマートフォンまたはPCからアクセスできます。
Kahoot (kahoot.com) will be used for quiz activities in some classes. Kahoot is free to use, and students can access it from their smartphone or PC.

この授業では教科書を使用せず、Nearpod を通じて教材を提供します。
This course does not use a textbook; all materials will be provided through Nearpod.

また、学習補助として以下のツールを使用します。
Additionally, the following tools will be used for learning support:
• Duolingo (英語学習アプリ) – 課題として使用
